Never got your grad photos? It is not too late. The campus looks the way you left it, the gown comes with the session, everything works exactly the same, and quiet-season availability is on your side.

Maybe your convocation happened over a webcam. Maybe the weeks around graduation were a blur of moving boxes, job starts, and goodbyes, and photos simply never happened. Years later the degree is on the wall and there is no photo of you with the campus that earned it. It is genuinely not too late. Alumni come back for sessions more often than you would guess, sometimes one year out, sometimes ten, and the photos hold their own beside anyone’s.

The campus still knows you.
Johnston Hall has not moved. The Portico columns, the Gryphon statue, Alumni Walk, the Arboretum trails: the places where your years actually happened look remarkably like you left them. That is the quiet advantage of a limestone campus. Your photos will not read as “taken later”; they will read as yours. Stand where you used to cram before finals, and the years in between fold up politely and get out of the frame.
Bring the people too. The roommate who lived it with you, the partner who heard all the stories, the kids who did not exist yet when you graduated. Alumni sessions have a way of turning into family sessions, and we are entirely in favour.
The gown is one phone call away.
No gown in the closet? There is nothing to sort out. Every campus session includes the gown and hood, so you can simply show up. If you would rather wear your own, the University of Guelph bookstore still rents them (bookstore.uoguelph.ca, 519-824-4120 ext. 53715). Either way, the cap-toss photo you never got is about twenty minutes into your session.
And if the gown feels like a costume after all these years, skip it. Plenty of alumni do half the session in regalia for the wall and half in their own clothes for themselves.

Here is the part current grads will envy: you are not tied to convocation weeks. Outside the peak season the calendar opens right up, golden-hour slots are easy to get, and the campus is calm enough that the Portico feels like it was reserved for you. Late spring after exams, early September before the rush, or the mid-to-late-October colour window if you time it right: they are all yours, usually on short notice.

Make a day of it.
An alumni session pairs beautifully with the visit you have been meaning to make anyway. Walk the Arboretum, find your old lecture hall, eat somewhere you could not afford as a student, and put the session at golden hour so the day ends with the best light. If your career has moved on since graduation, it is also a natural moment to refresh the professional side: headshot sessions are $100 if a current LinkedIn photo is all you need, and Premium already includes one alongside the campus frames.
